Following Bruce Banner getting shot in the head, paramedics start working on him. One of them is a man named Dr. Aaron Carpenter who went to school with Bruce and never really liked him, but now wonders if his abuse of Banner resulted in Bruce becoming the Hulk in the first place. Some S.H.I.E.L.D. agents tell Carpenter to save Bruce, but also put a device in his brain that turns his Hulk persona on and off. Carpenter refuses. At that moment, the Hulk manifests, now bald due to the surgery done to his head, and escapes. Now Agents Hill and Coulson have to go retrieve him. But when they do, they come upon something else thanks to a doctor - the surgery partially failed, and while Bruce Banner will survive, he may never be anything close to smart again.
